posted a message on What have you been playing while you wait for D3?
Borderlands, mostly. I'm working through Playthrough 2 on my Siren before tackling the DLC.

Other than that, I've just been messing around in Minecraft and Terraria. I'm also half-heartedly working on achievements in Trine, though most of those only involve finding one or two more treasures per level.

I'm considering resubscribing to World of Warcraft for my multiplayer fix, but we'll see.

I'll second everything that Puttah has said.

I played Evony for quite awhile and, while it was fun at first, the problems far outshined the benefits. Besides, the advertisements are annoying as hell.

Finally, I'm getting my hands on this game. I'm downloading it from Steam right now, and I can't wait to play it. I was going to wait until after Christmas, but Steam's having a sale on it today, so I grabbed it while I had the chance.

If anyone's interested, the regular edition is 25% off for today only ($37 instead of $50).

I don't really listen to anything in particular. Most of the time, I just open up Pandora or some other internet radio site and listen to whatever happens to be playing.

I don't smoke. I'm pretty sensitive to cigarette smoke, so I couldn't smoke even if I wanted to.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Eternal Darkness for gamecube. I had trouble sleeping for days...bleeding walls, hallucinations, the tv suddenly turning off, strange noises...I'm getting creeped out just thinking about it. Great game though

I had totally forgotten about that game. Thanks for bringing back the freaky memories! ^_^

Orly? I just got the game a couple weeks ago. I started on Expert as I do with all games and I have to say it isnt as hard as cod4 or halo3 on expert. I always try to get around the witch but my goddamn teamates make it almost impossible to do. I think it's kinda lame that you can 1 shot a witch :(, takes all the challenge out of it.

Avoiding the Witch is sometimes the best thing to do on Expert, since she'll kill you in one hit. But, I have to admit, your method sounds pretty flashy and probably funny as hell to watch. ^_^

If you're going for a one-hit kill, just run right up next to her and aim at her head or torso. Use a shotgun though, because the other guns won't do the damage you need to kill her.

Alternatively, you can use a hunting rifle to hit her in the head from a distance. It'll stun her, and as long as you and your teammates keep firing, she'll be dead long before she reaches you. I prefer this method myself, since it makes the game a little more exciting.

Then again, you could always just set her on fire and run. :P

Nobody tought L4D was scary? There is nothing scarier than hearing a witch or a tank in expert imo. The game does have some funny parts that lighten the mood, it's not all serious like the Silent Hill games.

You're totally right. The first time I heard a Witch... well, I was torn between being scared and feeling sorry for her. I don't think she's as bad as she used to be, since the game's been out awhile and nearly everyone knows how to crown her.

Tanks by themselves aren't too bad though, as long as he's not on fire and everyone shoots at him. While there may be crossfire, unless your team is really hurting or there's a horde around, he's generally not too hard to deal with. I'll always be more wary of a Witch than a Tank.

The first Silent Hill game did it for me, especially in the beginning where you're walking down that alley. The atmosphere and camera angles freaked me, but it was just a game I had to keep playing.

I've played other "scary" games, but none have scared me like Silent Hill.

They did say the PTR would be up first.. makes sense. So maybe they'll have information on the PTR?

That's what I'm thinking it might be. Either that, or they finally had a breakthrough with the increased stash and just have to share the news with all of us (and then proceed to say that the patch will be released "soon").

Blizzard time > Valve time, y/y?

I'm running Windows 7, and I use AVG so I don't feel overly naked while running around on the internet.

I also use Malware Bytes, and may install Ad-Aware later, if I feel I need it.

Here's another kicker for the game. x.X

Nice. If I want a 4-hour single player experience, I'll just play Portal. It's cheaper, too. ^_^

I mean, I can kind of see where they're coming from with the whole story-driven thing, but eh... I'll be too busy playing Left 4 Dead 2 to care.

Yes, but I doubt you play with every single person on the internet, for every person who's over twenty, there's a hundred that's below.

Again, the same can be said for console users.

Personally, I think that most console gamers are younger than the PC crowd. Consoles are generally cheaper and more available for those who aren't able to afford and/or maintain a gaming PC; a console game is developed with that console's limitations in mind, whereas PC game requirements can vary quite a bit.

I don't know... I tend to play with people my age and older anyway, so I'm probably just not seeing the younger crowd.

Sometimes the gaming community can be so ungrateful...
You should thank the company's instead of complaining, they are working their asses off to give us, the gaming community, a game to play.
I'm not sure what to say, would you rather have a very good game that's played like the developers want's it, or no games at all?

They may be creating games for the gaming community, but, most importantly, the industry is trying to make money. Gaming is more popular now than it used to be, so it's natural to try and tailor games to capitalize on that.

    Quote from "Turmobil" »
And about the whole "taking our money and betraying us" deal, a company needs money too. Without money, no games can be produced. The people who work in the company's probably have families and bills to pay, and they need money for that.

And if a company, regardless of what it does, makes a bad business decision, sales suffer. If that same company continues to make bad decisions, then they go under. It's not the fault of the consumer.
