The application encountered an unexpected error.

  • @Almafuerte
    Glad you got it working. The 388.00 Nvidia drivers are pretty recent. Do you know if the issue started before or after updating?
  • @Almafuerte
    Strange. The 388.13 drivers just came out today so they may be worth taking a look at. The 32 bit client utilizes DIrectX 9 so that may be why it worked when you switched. The new driver may resolve that.
  • @Tashe
    Mind posting a DxDiag report?
  • @Mushu
    That's going to be a different issue and we suggest making your own thread. In the meantime, try changing your desktop resolution then start the game.
  • Osimorth The error logs are missing information about the video cards. Have seen this happen due to either the drivers for the card not being installed or they are old. Make sure the latest driver for the video card is installed.

    AmuroDrei To be on the safe side make sure Windows 7 is up to date as it being out of date can cause these errors.

    Osimorth and AmuroDrei If the above steps did not help, I do have some more steps for you to try that may.

    • Run the Diablo III repair tool.

    • Open the Documents folder in Windows. In the Documents folder there will be a Diablo III game folder. Delete the Diablo III folder.

    • Run the computer in a selective startup mode.

    •If the crashing still happens, post a DxDiag and Diablo III Error Logs. Paste the DXdiag and Diablo III Error Logs into the post, select and highlight everything you just pasted, and hit the "code" button (</>). That'll make the information much more readable.
  • @boleynsee
    Please try uninstalling Duet Display.

    @SkullCrasher, @LeifR10
    Let's get a DxDiag report.

    We generally recommend using the 64 bit client. Is there a reason you're trying to play on the 32 bit client?

    @Voodooking, @LedZeppelin
    Try rolling back to the 17.11 drivers. You can use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove the current drivers. Once done, grab the 17.11.2 drivers here.
  • @SkullCrasher
    May want to try running the game with the 32 bit client for DirectX 9. Past that there may not be much we can assist with given the age of the card. The drivers installed are from 2007 and AMD doesn't look to have any Windows 10 drivers for the GPU on their website.
  • @xabaras80
    Not finding your crash logs. Mind seeing if you can find one on your computer and post it here? Steps for that can be found here.

    Try disabling the Discord overlay.
  • @KoalaMomoa
    Can you also disable the Discord overlay?
  • @KoalaMomoa
    Go ahead and try the 32 bit client. If there's still issues, please post a DxDiag report.

    @Dawnfire27 @LuckyTigger
    Your issues are going to be connection related and so not the same as what's going on in this thread. Would suggest going through the basic connection steps here. If there's still issues, please make your own threads and be sure to post traceroute results.

    @frost @llmikell
    Please post DxDiag reports.

    Let's try rolling back to the 17.11.4 drivers here. Before installing, be sure to remove the current drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller.
