2000 ping 6-10 p.m. (WinMTR logs)

  • Hello, I would be grateful if you could help me figure out what is going on.

Every day, around 6 p.m., my D3 starts having crazy high ping, latency spikes 5-30x of my usual ping, up to 2000 (just now). When I play in the morning before work or late at night, I´m fine.

But these spikes during gaming "prime time" is making it impossible to play with friends and is discouraging, overall.

I went through all the troubleshooting steps mentioned here
    https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/112206

Here are comparison WinMTR logs from today. The first one was in the morning, everything worked fine, had an enjoayble session. The second is from a few minutes ago, around 6 p.m..

The difference is clearly in the second row, is that my ISP doing something fishy? Can you rule out a D3 issue based on these results or do you need me to provide some other logs?

Thanks you in advance for any kind of help or tips on how to resolve this issue.
    Have a nice weekend.
  • Heyo!

Based on the WinMTR results you've provided, the packet loss we're seeing on the second hop is going to be a bit concerning. Based on the IP address, that hop is going to be part of the SWAN, a.s. network and so I would definitely hit them up if your issue persist. Its possible that the hop may be getting overloaded during high traffic hours which may result in the latency you're seeing.
